bUILD uNITY
I believe my unique qualifications can help build unity in Worthington by my ability to be a consensus-builder. Certainly a bold statement and not something anyone can do on their own. Here's why I believe I can be part of the solution:
I'm something of a generational bridge: I'm 50 years old, yet I have a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old (long story). That means I'm closer in age to my 60-something grandparent neighbors than to the 30-something moms and dads I volunteer with at my son's school. I can understand varied perspectives because I share values with varied groups.
I'm a trained focus group moderator. My job is to ensure everyone is heard during a discussion--to keep sessions collaborative and productive--to bring together diverse opinions, brainstorm solutions, build a team and come to consensus.
I'm part of exciting Worthington collaborations. As a female Democrat, I've connected well with the other women currently on council. And, I'm working with fellow candidates who are aligned with me on important Worthington policy issues. This collaboration embodies exactly the multi-generational unity our community needs.
